We hope you and your families have been able to get some needed rest and relaxation this past week.
We are joining #GivingTuesday efforts in order to support our work this year. Here's some of what we have been working on this past year:
We conducted an organizing campaign to engage the ideas of our youth and families to inform the plan for the Southside Teen Center in a context of broader conversations about community-driven sustainable community development and projects on the southside.
We launched Youth United for Climate Crisis Action and the YUCCA Climate Emergency Campaign and we also launched our new c4 YUCCA Action and did a ton of amazing work around the election.
With a ton of amazing partners in the community - like you, we launched Santa Fe Mutual Aid at the start of the pandemic and have been coordinating it ever since with a membership of over 900 residents providing solidarity and support and distributing over $137,000 in direct aid to individuals and families for groceries, medication, rent and utility support.
We launched the #ShareMyCheck program to create a mechanism for economic justice and wealth redistribution -- harnessing the stimulus funds and extra cash from those who are able to share and redistributing it to members of our undocumented community who are excluded from federal aid programs with another $109,000 distributed to date.
