GOTV Fall 2021!

Get Out The Vote! Good morning friend, We're just days away from the end of local municipal elections in Santa Fe! We have some information for you and your communities as we head towards the Tuesday, November 2nd Election Day! We asked local City of Santa Fe candidates to fill out our Climate Questionnaire! Please check out our election website (www.yuccaaction.org)! ALSO, we were at the 2021 Climate Summit hosted by Speaker Egolf & NM green groups earlier this week. We brought banners reminding our elected officials of our demands and a reminder of how much New Mexico fossil fuel extraction and emissions affect the rest of the country - we're one of the largest exporters in the country! We can't wait. We were impressed by the workers and frontline communities who presented and spoke on Day 2 of the summit! But we were concerned after hearing the upcoming agenda set by our Governor and Roundhouse leadership for the legislative session, instead of energy democracy measures and a just transition, we heard more about the hydrogen plans and carbon credit trading schemes. We'll do a more full report back on our thoughts soon. More to come......

We sent our Candidate Questionnaire to all City Council & Mayoral Candidates in the City of Santa Fe. We received questionnaires from only 4 of them. We hope our questionnaire informs your decision making for this election, especially for City Council District 4; all candidates in this race filled out the questionnaire.
