Huge Victory in our LNG opposition campaign! PRC Hearing Examiner recommends LNG plant Denial!

Great news! After organizing for nearly nine months alongside partners - includingNew Energy Economy that led a killer legal intervention in the PRC proceeding on our collective behalf - the Hearing Examiner presiding over the case has issued a significant Recommended Decision against the approval of New Mexico Gas Company's application to build and operate a Liquified Natural Gas facility, which the utility proposed to construct on a 160-acre parcel of land that encompasses parts of southern Rio Rancho and northwest Bernalillo County.

The Recommendation came after an extensive review, including a four-day public hearing and careful evaluation of the evidence presented by NMGC.

THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS EVERYONE WHO TESTIFIED AGAINST THE PLANT!

YOUR VOICES MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

However, this decision is not final. The parties involved in the case will have the opportunity to present exceptions to the recommendation, after which the Commission will undertake its independent judgment to either accept, reject, or modify the Recommended Decision.

The outcome of this case could significantly impact NMGC's strategic direction and operations, and once and for all shut down the dangerous facility that would further degrade our environment.

The PRC will make the final decision in a month so it’s crucial. Let's keep up the pressure and tell them we do not want risky LNG in our neighborhoods and near Petroglyph National Monument North
