🚨 Last Call: Public Comment Closes Tonight – Help Us Stop Project Jupiter's Mega-Emissions

🚨 Today is the LAST day to submit public comment to the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) on Project Jupiter developers' air quality permit applications, and we need your help to demand that NMED reject these permits outright and hold a public hearing to allow impacted community members to learn more about the risks and voice their concerns. 🚨
Â
Together, Project Jupiter developers' 2 air quality permit applications request authorization to emit more than 13 MILLION tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year – more emissions than Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces combined – in an area that already consistently fails to meet national air quality standards.
Â
Despite filing 2 separate applications in an attempt to unlawfully circumvent public health protections, the proposed emissions outlined in these 2 applications would exceed major source thresholds when combined – we can't allow this massive $165 billion AI data center project to poison our air and communities in Doña Ana County while wealthy investors continue to rake in profits.
📢 We need you to take action today. In less than 5 minutes, you can submit a written public comment to the New Mexico Environment Department by utilizing the easy form we've created below.
Â
Once you've submitted public comment, help us spread the word to your friends, family, and networks by urging them to make their voices heard and speak up for Southern New Mexico's air before today's public comment deadline.
Â
We've made it easy to share this urgent call to action with your community – This e-blast and our recent social media videos (available in both Spanish and English) include all of the information that your networks will need to take action.
Â
Help us flood NMED with an outpouring of opposition to Project Jupiter's air quality permit applications by forwarding this email to 5 friends and sharing our call to action video before public comment closes tonight. Then stay plugged into the fight by registering to join YUCCA for our virtual We Got Us Network Meetings every Monday at 5:30 pm, where we'll continue to strategize together and break down next steps.
