5 Days Left to Stop 13 MILLION Tons of Emissions: Take Action to Demand That NMED Reject Project Jupiter's Pollution

Right now, the developers behind Project Jupiter are requesting approval for 2 air quality permit applications that could lead to more than 13 MILLION tons of greenhouse gas emissions each year, and we need you to take action by March 2nd to help stop them.

Project Jupiter, a massive $165 billion AI data center currently under construction in Doña Ana County, wouldn't just drain our desert's scarce water resources – it would also worsen pollution in an overburdened region that already consistently fails to meet national air quality standards.

Developers split these permits into two separate applications, even though both microgrids are under common ownership and control, are located less than a mile apart, serve the same AI data center, and fall under the same industrial classification.

So why were these applications split into two?

Because developers know that when combined, proposed emissions from these microgrids would exceed major source thresholds, triggering stronger pollution controls and deeper review. These permit applications are a clear attempt to unlawfully circumvent these critical protections.

And it gets worse. If the proposed turbines run at full capacity, Project Jupiter would emit more pollutants than Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces combined.

We won't stand by while Project Jupiter attempts to evade public health protections, worsens pollution, and violates health standards in a community that will pay the price with their health and lives as profits continue to flow to wealthy AI investors.

🚨 The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) is accepting written public comment on Project Jupiter's air quality permit applications until March 2nd, and we have just 5 days to take action. 🚨

Help us demand that the New Mexico Environment Department reject these permits outright and hold a public hearing that would allow impacted community members to learn about the risks and voice their concerns by customizing our template message to NMED (also available in Spanish here) and submitting public comment at the button below.

Once you've made your voice heard, help us mobilize community members across the state by sharing our call to action video (available in both English and Spanish) and urging your friends, family, and networks to speak up for Southern New Mexico's air by the March 2nd deadline.

Queremos aire y agua limpia, NOT AI. ✊
