ELIGIBILITY

Entrants must be younger than 25 and live within the state of New Mexico.

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

HOW TO SUBMIT

Please bring physical work in person to The ARTsmart Gallery, 1201 Parkway Dr, Santa Fe, NM 87507. Artwork should be dropped off during gallery hours, (Monday through Friday between 10 am and 4pm)  or by appointment (call ARTsmart at 505-992-2787). Works must arrive by Sept 16, 2019

 

Art must meet these requirements

 

  1. Artwork is clearly related to the theme of Climate Crisis (the use of found or recycled materials is encouraged)

  2. Artwork includes no racist, homophobic or sexist sentiments

  3. Artwork was made by a person who is at the time of submission younger than 25

  4. Artwork Entry form is completed (forms will be provided at the ARTsmart gallery to be filled out at the time of submission)

 

All art meeting these requirements will be accepted and shown in the exhibition.

 

ARTWORK AGREEMENTS 

 

  • Shipping to/from is the responsibility of the artist, hand delivery/pickup is preferred. Drop off points in ABQ, Taos, and Española permitted.

    • For return of artwork: include a pre-paid shipping address label and send the artwork in reusable shipping containers/boxes.

  • Work must arrive ready for installation/exhibition. If work is video or new media based the artist must provide any necessary screens, headphones etc.  

  • There is no limit to the  number of submissions

  • Artist receives 100% from the sale of their artwork within one month after the exhibition closes 

  • Works submitted to the show must be available for the duration of the exhibition

  • Works must be picked up on or before Oct 5th between 12-4PM or work becomes property of YUCCA

IN CRISIS

In Crisis will bring awareness to the international Climate Crisis by highlighting and giving voice to the creativity of New Mexico’s Youth artists. This exhibition will feature works from students and youth across the state. Y.U.C.C.A aims to support the creative efforts and voices of local youth through providing an open admission gallery exhibition on the topic of climate injustice. In Crisis coincides with the International Climate Strike starting on September 20th to 27th, 2019. Through participating in In Crisis, young artists can use art as a tool to protect our shared future.

 

For Best in Show, Y.U.C.C.A. will award cash prizes of $500 for 1st place, $350 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place.
